It’s the annual free Community Weekend January 21 – January 22, 2012 at ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park.

Guests can visit animals from the Southern Swamps, The Great Southwest, Eastern Woodlands, Big Sky Country and Northlands. They’ll be able to experience up-close animal encounters hosted by ZooAmerica naturalists throughout the day.

Zoo mascot Ranger Scratch also will make a special appearance.

The wildlife park is an 11 acre, year-round, walk-through zoo that is home to more than 200 animals representing more than 60 North American species. Open daily, ZooAmerica is one of eight zoos in Pennsylvania accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and prides itself on following its mission of conservation.

The event’s hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.

Admission is free. Additional parking will be available at the parking garage on Chocolate Avenue.

Starting Monday January 16th, 2012, Stiegel Glassworks 1976 will be in the studio filling special orders and creating items for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. This production run should be about two weeks.

Stop by to say hello, get acquainted with the staff, and check out the new tee shirts.

The glassblowing studio is located at the train station complex, 210 S Charlotte Street. The building is along Cherry Street between the Trolley Barn and Box Car.

Looking for a fun winter activity to get out of the house? The AACA Museum has put together a
fun family weekend with something for everyone to enjoy this weekend!
Younger visitor’s will enjoy seeing a showing of the original Disney-Pixar “Cars” movie at the indoor drive-in theatre at 10:30 AM and again at 2:00PM on both Saturday and Sunday. The whole family will enjoy a “Cars” scavenger Hunt through the Museum as you try and find some of your favorite “Cars” characters hidden in our various Museum exhibits. We’ll randomly select a winner from all those who participate to win a “Cars” prize package.
The Roads to Rails model train display will be open for all visitors to enjoy. The interactive kids area with photo stop and the ability race a car you build will keep younger visitors occupied for hours!
Cars MovieTreasures Collection
The AACA Museum will also be featuring select vehicles from our newly opened exhibit Treasures from the Museum Collection exhibit. This exhibit showcases a variety of magnificent American luxury cars from the 1930’s – 1950’s with a focus on styling changes over the decades.
