Lancaster County is famous for the Mennonite and Amish quilts that are a symbol of the Old Order Communities.
Hand-made Lancaster quilts, often stitched with care by Pennsylvania Amish and Mennonite women, are excellent examples of the craftsmanship and quality that is common among Lancaster County artisans. While Amish quilts began solely as practical objects within the Amish lifestyle – they were usually made simply for warmth or for gifts or dowry items – they have evolved over time and are now regarded as works of art by people around the world.
Lancaster quilts make the perfect gift for others or as take-home remembrance for you and your family. In PA Dutch Country, you can find Mennonite and Amish quilts in the form of full-size treasures, smaller “quillows,” and even keychains. It is 1939; America finds itself still gripped firmly by the calloused hands of The Great Depression. The American Paranormal Society (APS) has been re-energized by a shift in its mission. The Society will be using its considerable influence to help bring about a swift end to the downward economic spiral that has hobbled the American Dream and given rise to numerous opportunistic tyrants. The APS believes that the answers to today’s problems lie in the past. Why read dusty, old books, when one can speak directly with those who lived it?
This meeting’s importance cannot be overstated. This Depression can only be resolved with the help of those who survived comparable hard times in the past. It is time to call upon our ancestors for guidance.
Please accept this invitation to join us for a sumptuous four course meal as well as the opportunity to participate in a great cause of patriotism, to shine the beacon of hope into the darkness that envelops us all.
Join the Mount Hope Estate in this fun display of a murder mystery complete with excellent food. For more information about the events and how to purchase your tickets you can visit their website.
